F-RIB 430, a foldable semi-rigid dinghy!

F-RIB 430

F-RIB is a range of foldable pneumatic and semi-rigid tyres, composed of 8 models - two of which are sailboats - from 2.75 m (275) to 4.572 m (460). For 2017, the English brand is releasing a new model, the F-RIB 430, which folds, not in three, but in four parts. Ideal for discreetly stowing away on board as a dinghy or for transporting in its boot to be used as a family boat.

F-RIB continues to develop its range of inflatable boats and folding semi-rigid boats with an 8 e model. The F-RIB 430 is the second largest model in the range (after the 460) and it folds into four parts, unlike the other models which only fold into three parts. Like the others, it can be used as a tender or family boat at the same time.

With a length of 4.30 m, it fits in a bag 115X115X50cm for a weight of 68 kg. It can carry 6 people (up to 800 kg approximately) and can be fitted with an outboard motorisation up to 30 HP. It will reach a top speed of 30 knots, making it the fastest of the F-RIB range. Included in the package are 3 benches and oars.

The F-RIB 430 is a family semi-rigid, designed for day trips with the family or for fishing. It can also be used as a large mooring annex.

It combines the advantages of both a semi-rigid and an inflatable boat. Its polyester V-shaped hull makes it easy to pass through the sea and makes sailing comfortable. The fact that it is foldable means that it can be easily transported in a car boot, cockpit or even under the cabin floor.

To ensure the rigidity of the floor, unlike F-RIB 275, where it is the inflation of the flanges that provides rigidity, all the cross members (bolts, gland seals and wing nut-nylon) will have to be bolted. "It's as strong and durable as a real, classic semi-rigid." explains Olivier, exclusive importer of the brand via Big Toys on Board.

Easy launching

The F-RIB 430 has approximately 6 compartments inflated in 6 minutes. "Boaters who use it as a family boat are advised to store it in the trunk of their car in its bag. Then simply take it out and inflate it next to the car. It comes with a foot pump, but you can also use an electric inflator. We have optional removable elbow wheels that can be installed without tools under the hull. All that's left to do is to install the counterbalancing engine and there's almost nothing to carry. It's the most practical!" explains Olivier.

To deflate it, simply open the quarter-turn valves and fold the boat up, it will deflate by itself.

Options to customize your boat

Options are available to increase comfort on board, including soft tops - windshield hood or full soft top - for protected sailing. There are also bench cushions and zipped bench bags.
