Your Garmin chartplotter: with or without keyboard?

Garmin with without keyboard

Garmin now offers units with a keypad that makes handling in rough seas easier and a range without a keypad that relies solely on the touch screen.

After being the very first manufacturer of fully tactile devices (without any keyboard), the American manufacturer of electronic equipment Garmin launches for this season 2 ranges of devices:

The GPSMAP 722/922 have a 7" and 9" touch screen respectively and only the touch screen (smaller and cheaper).

The GPSMAP 1022/1222 has a 10" and 12" display respectively. The latter features a new keypad with a multifunction rotary knob.

These 2 new series of GPSMAP are available in a plotter only version (map reader) or in a combined version with an integrated sounder module.
