Web series / Blandine and Max play extra time in Cape Verde

It's time to take a vacation for our young globe trotting couple. After the tumultuous navigations, they set foot on the Cape Verde Islands and fall under the spell of the tropical atmosphere. They give us an account of their journey punctuated with encounters and discoveries.

After the galleys: the pleasure of the journey.

Blandine and Max have just spent a month in Cape Verde and obviously, they had a great time there, a beautiful love story.

After visiting several islands: Sal, more precisely in the village of Palmeira Bonavista then Santa Maria where our couple landed in order to refloat the crate on board.

The logbook is a good moment of conviviality and pleasure of the travel life :

"First of all, our friend Sokkhom joins us, we sail together to Boavista Island, there we catch our first "real" big fish, a tuna of about 6kg, it took some culinary imagination and a few days to come to grips with it..

During this time, we have paddle, kite, and especially a ride around the island on scooters. We meet wild goats, donkeys and their owners, we taste the national specialty, the Katchupa: a delight! In short the good life.

It is now time to go back to Palmeira, or rather "home", we meet Manuel, who makes the famous "Uril", this game of calculations played by all Cape Verdeans at every street corner.

Our boyfriend's leaving, so it's time for us to get to work. And yes, the car is starting to run dry!

We manage to land two paid video projects, two promo videos. The first one on an electric bike rental shop, the second one on a kite school.

We also find Amy, who despite her lack of budget for the promo video we offer her, tells us about her desire to make a video about the young kitesurfers of the area.

A beautiful story:

Arsenio, Kenny, Leandro, Bernardo and Jordy are 5 young kitesurfers, all from the island of Sal in Cape Verde, who are between 17 and 19 years old.

They all work in the kite business, beach boys for some (they help people on the beach to take off their kite), kite instructors for others.

Our five young people do not have the means to practice thoroughly and progress in this discipline. All of them are very busy with their work. They try to get together as soon as they have free time, the kite schools they work for lend them equipment most of the time. Today, the idea is to make them a video to promote them in Europe, and thus help them to find a sponsor, and thus a potential way to get a visa to go out of their country and show their talents in international competitions.

That's all it took to motivate us, we will help these young people with pleasure!

From there we start shooting the various sequences, a week later we manage to edit a video representative of the message to be conveyed. A week later we manage to edit a video representative of the message to be conveyed. From there follows a projection with the relatives of the young people, the emotion is palpable, for them as well as for us. We are all happy, this video can lead somewhere! Time and the broadcasting of this video will do the trick, fingers crossed!

To see the report on these young people directed and edited by Blandine and Max..

It is now time to leave Sal, it is with a heavy heart that we head for Sao Nicolao ... But not alone! Greg, our crewman for the transatlantic has joined us on board! The three of us are leaving for a 15 hour crossing.

There we arrive in Sao Nicolao where we meet up with our friends Oli and Emi! We organize a nice program, fishing and barbecue for two days on a deserted beach, alone at anchor, like real adventurers! From there, we go for a hike in the heights of this green and wet island, it's good to see trees! We pick some tomatoes and papayas on the road.

We continue our journey with a short stopover in Santa Luzia, a completely deserted island.

The clouds and the very windy anchorage discouraged us from staying more than one night, so we set off again the next day in Mindelo, our starting point for the Transat. It's time to get back to preparing the boat!"
