Good start!
After letting a cable ship pass through the fleet, the classic sailing boats of the Plymouth - La Rochelle set off into the harbour of the British port under a heavy breeze. The sun of this departure contrasted with the wet arrival of the conveyor. Hounraken's crew enjoyed the spectacle of varnished yachts.

First scars
As soon as the first tack was made, the genoa sewn up at Plymouth was torn again. Indeed, although the crew has installed guards on the spreaders of the new mast installed this winter, it seems that the extra 10 cm added by the rigger without consultation with Henri, the owner, is definitely causing damage. The scars are sewn to the grey tape by the crew! And here we go for an express Channel crossing.

Part of cache cache cache in the night
Soon, the fleet spread out and Hounraken, one of the most modest units, found his playmates. A long reaching edge allows you to play all night long with Danycan. The boats cross each other at the rate of quarters and course variations. We will therefore alternate between the green and red lights of Danycan.
Oven under spinnaker... Goulet under genoa, sailmaker always!
In the early morning, as we approach the Breton coast, the spis rise. Kraken's purple mainsail lifts up part of the fleet and we set up our yellow spinnaker. He takes us to the Brest Narrows where he decides that enough is enough. The sail tears at the headrest, visibly weakened. There is no more hope of catching up with Phizz, even though it is within reach, before the arrival in Camaret.

24 hours round
Hounraken crosses the line after 24 hours of racing. A fast and pleasant cross-Channel, despite technical problems. The aperitif offered by the town hall of Camaret, at the foot of the Vauban tower, is an opportunity for everyone to share the emotions of the evening. After the evening fireworks, it will be Brest 2016 and the next morning's celebration!
