Aventura Catamarans moves its production site

STGI Marine, which produces the Aventura catamaran and the Kerkena monohulls, has just moved its production site to Tunisia. Already present for 10 years in this country, the shipyard is now closer to the sea and has moved to a facility designed for large units. The announcement of new models?

Already established in Tunisia for 10 years, the company which produces the Aventura cruising catamarans has just moved to new premises on 1st February 2015. A move of around thirty kilometres between the Tazarka site near Hammamet and the Menzel Bourguiba free zone in Bizerte.

The site is located in premises with its feet in the water, in premises previously occupied by an Italian subcontractor that produced units ranging from 98 to 140 feet. Thus these buildings are well equipped (overhead crane, ventilation for working with epoxy and carbon) and generously dimensioned (2,500 m2, 12 m high) for the range of Aventura catamarans. This new location, 50 minutes from Tunis, has less tourist attraction than the previous one, but the direct access to the sea will facilitate the launching and avoid problematic road transport (especially on the 43 foot 7 m wide!).

The move took 3 weeks with the transport of all the production moulds and 2 catamarans being finalized.

This new location opens up new horizons and prospects for model renewal. There is already half talk of a motorized Aventura 33 and perhaps the launch of a little brother of the 43 (between 37 and 40 feet).

Currently, the range of catamarans is limited to 2 main models: the 33 (10 m), a small catamaran truly habitable without competition and the 43 (13.20 m) launched in 2014, of which the 5 e exemplary and under construction. The other smaller models in the range (20, 23.5 and 28 feet) are always available to order, even if there is no current demand.

In parallel to this range of catamarans, the yard offers a range of Kerkena monohulls with three transportable models from 5.5 to 7.6 m (5.5, 6.1 and 7.6) and even a 6 m outboard promenade fishing boat which seems to be well received on the local market.

This new address goes hand in hand with the commissioning in the coming weeks of the new Marina de Bizerte, a few kilometres away, which will also enable customers to be assured of berths at particularly attractive rates and the purchase of catamarans tax-free.
