In the opening act of the 2015 Extreme Sailing Series season, it was two-time Olympic gold medalists Roman Hagara and Hans Peter Steinacher who led Red Bull Sailing Team to victory. After 32 races on the Marina Bay course, the Austrian team, which had taken the lead at the beginning of the first round of the 2015 Extreme Sailing Series, was the only team to win re day managed to hold off the onslaught of SAP Extreme Sailing Team. The latter missed out on victory in Singapore by only 5 points. The Wave, Muscat completed the podium.
"We're super happy, it's great. The kids did a great job and I think our experience helped a lot too. Our crew worked well and it was perfect for us." commented Roman Hagara. With the help of his tactician, Peter Steinacher, he has chosen the young crew of the Red Bull America's Cup team, Jason Waterhouse, Shaun Mason and Stewart Dodson. "This proves to us that we can do it. We were unlucky last season, but here everything went well. I think we are now making good decisions on the water."
With its 2 e place in the rankings, SAP Extreme Sailing Team's goal was to regain confidence and this is what they have achieved.
