After the announcement of the best-of european sailboats 2015 the winners of the "European Powerboat of the Year 2015" category have been announced. A jury of experts from the eight leading European powerboat magazines in Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands and Switzerland chose the models of the year 2015. With 250 powerboats entering the market each year, five boats in five different categories were awarded prizes. The categories are: up to 25 feet, up to 35 feet, up to 45 feet, over 45 feet and trawler without length restriction.

The boats that received the European Powerboat of the Year 2015 award were chosen for their innovative nature. During the tests, several criteria were taken into account such as design, handling, safety on board, price/performance ratio etc.

Motorboat up to 25 feet âeuros Boat Flyer 6

Six different concepts competed in the category of powerboats under 26 feet and in the end it was the Bénéteau Flyer 6 that won the title of powerboat of the year. What seduced the jury was its ability to seduce new owners and to be easily towable, which is very important in this category of boats. Moreover, depending on the owner's needs, the Flyer 6 is available in 3 versions: space deck, sports deck and sun deck. All three versions are built with the same Air Step hull, which provides real performance and an attractive price/performance ratio.

The other nominees were:

  • Flipper 600 DC
  • Parker 750 DC / Askeladden C75
  • Rinker 200 Captiva MTX

Based on these criteria, the award was given to the Draco 27 RS, which embodies a modern interpretation of the term "bowrider". What also impressed people was its excellent finish and its very good handling. The Scandinavian brand won all the votes by proposing boats that take up the strong points of its predecessors.

Motorboat up to 45 feet âeuros Cranchi 43 Eco Trawler

In the 45-foot powerboat category, what the jury was looking for, in addition to easy handling and safety features, were the living conditions on board and the efficient use of space. The Cranchi 43 Eco Trawler has many customization options, a beautiful 360° view and an exceptionally large flybridge.

The other nominees were:

  • Bavaria Sport 400
  • Nimbus 405 Coupe
  • Rio Paramá 38
  • Windy Camira 39

Motorboat over 45 feet âeuros Azimut 50 Fly

In this smaller model, Italian designers and engineers have managed to transfer all the attributes of its big sister, the Azimut 80, which measures 15 meters. The equipment, the spacious interior, the layout of the cabin, create the feeling of being on a much larger boat. However, the Azimut 50 remains powerful, as you would expect from a flybridge, and reaches speeds of up to 30 knots.

The other nominees were:

  • Absolute Navetta 58
  • Greenline 48
  • Korvet 14
