BlueNav unveils its new Outboard 11 kW electric motor

BlueNav, the French specialist in intelligent hybrid motorization, has unveiled its brand-new 11 kW Outboard electric motor. This is a major innovation for the company, which has reached a key technological milestone with this model, the first BlueNav motor to incorporate a turbine entirely designed and developed in-house.

An in-house turbine for greater efficiency and silence

Until now, BlueNav's 8 kW and 15 kW electric motors have been equipped with turbines based on Rim Drive Technology (RDT). With the Outboard 11 kW, the brand changes dimension by developing its own turbine, incorporating a patented innovation for dynamic anti-cavitation thrust control.

This technology constantly optimizes energy efficiency while limiting cavitation. The result is a smoother, quieter and more precise propulsion system, for both maneuvering and low-speed navigation.

Intermediate power for a wider range of uses

Positioned between the 8 kW and 15 kW models, the new 11 kW Outboard fills a gap in the BlueNav range. It is based on the same ultra-compact format as the 8 kW, making it easy to integrate into a wide range of boats, without compromising on size, weight or ease of installation.

Mainly offered in twin configuration, it is designed for boats from 6 to 12 tons. A single-engine version will also be available for boats weighing from 3 to 6 tons, further extending the range of applications.

A discreet, efficient hybridization solution

Mounted on the transom, the BlueSpin Outboard 11 kW is almost invisible when not in use. In electric mode, its retractable turbine lowers to provide silent, responsive propulsion, perfectly suited :

  • port maneuvers,
  • for docking,
  • low-speed navigation,
  • at l'Ancre Virtuelle.

In thermal navigation, the turbine retracts completely, eliminating all drag and preserving the boat's performance. An approach designed to offer the best of both worlds: the autonomy and speed of internal combustion, the precision and silence of electric power.

Smart Navigation at the heart of the BlueNav system

Like the rest of the range, the Outboard 11 kW incorporates BlueNav Smart Navigation solutions, designed to assist the navigator in the most demanding phases.

Features include:

  • Positioning : Virtual Anchor, Dynamic Positioning System (DPS), Drift Lock
  • Maneuversing: Lateral docking, 360° docking
  • Autopilot functions: course keeping, road keeping, point tracking, cruise control

Combined with the BlueNav 3D Joystick, Precision+ GPS and BlueNav mobile app, the package promises an intuitive, fluid and stress-free sailing experience, even with a small crew or solo.

An engine designed and produced mainly in France

Another strong point highlighted by BlueNav is its local industrial base. The Outboard 11 kW motor is mainly produced locally, with :

  • 79% of the value of components from France,
  • 89% from Europe.

It's a conscious choice, part of a responsible production approach that reduces the carbon footprint of transport and supports local industrial ecosystems.

Designing, developing and assembling the new turbine in-house illustrates BlueNav's determination to strengthen its technological independence and take full control of quality, performance and innovation.
