Route du Rhum 2026: Watch Tom Laperche's arrival in Guadeloupe live

Tom Laperche is nearing the finish line in the 2026 Route du Rhum. Aboard his maxi-trimaran SVR-Lazartigue, the French sailor is tackling the final miles in the lead of the Ultim class. Watch the video of his arrival in Pointe-à-Pitre, at the end of a crossing marked by unusual weather conditions.

A First Route du Rhum at the Forefront

In his first appearance in the Route du Rhum, Tom Laperche took the lead in the Ultim fleet and maintained a significant lead over his closest competitors, Thomas Coville and Louis Burton.

After crossing the Atlantic without the usual trade winds, the skipper of SVR-Lazartigue must still navigate around Guadeloupe. This final stretch of the course is challenging, as the wind shadows caused by the terrain and shifts in wind direction can make it difficult for the trimarans to make headway.
