A title decided in the final round
The weather severely disrupted the Japanese leg of the race. After three days without enough wind to race, only four races could be held over two days.
Justine Lemeteyer finished fourth in the first race and then went on to take three second-place finishes. In the final race, a successful gybe at the last mark allowed her to gain a decisive position.
The Frenchwoman won the championship by just 0.4 points over Slovenia's Lina Er?en, while Norway's Tuva Oppedal rounded out the podium. Without winning a single heat, Justine made the difference with her consistency.

William Huppert moved into eighth place in the world rankings after finishing sixth in Japan. Benoît Merceur rounded out the top 10 in the championship, despite finishing 14th in this final round.
In the women's competition, Maé Davico finished sixth in the championship and Marion Mortefon finished eighth.
