Could you tell us a little about the Port of Canet?

Maxime Gantois: Located in the Occitanie region, in the Pyrénées-Orientales (66), in the heart of the Gulf of Lion Marine Nature Park, the port of Canet-en-Roussillon?the Mediterranean?s catamaran and refit capital?is one of the largest marinas in Occitanie, backed by a nautical cluster of 40 specialized companies (shipyards, refit equipment suppliers, etc.). We have 1,300 berths, are certified ?5-Star Yachting Quality? and ?Clean Ports,? and feature a very well-equipped technical area (200-metric-ton and 50-metric-ton boat lifts, 5-metric-ton, 30-metric-ton and 50-metric-ton), service docks, as well as a water treatment and recycling facility, a floating rinse station, and a yacht club. Already equipped with a wide range of facilities and services for recreational boaters and industry professionals, we continue to expand our offerings with this new dry dock service.
Why launch this new dry port service?
M.G.: Because it addresses a recurring request from our users, and because we were able to expand our operating license for the marina to include this new service on a dedicated site, located near our service area and its extension, as well as one of our boat launch ramps. This modern facility offers a sustainable, tailor-made solution to our boaters? storage needs.
Where is it located, and what are its technical specifications?

M.G.: The dry dock is located on the property adjacent to the Jacques Coupet Yacht Club?a hub for maritime and sailing associations?in the immediate vicinity of the basin and the launch ramp. It offers a capacity of 50 berths for motorboats up to 9 meters in length, within a modern and secure facility.
Who is this service intended for?
M.G.: This new service meets the needs of recreational boaters who sail occasionally and want to enjoy their boats with as few constraints as possible. It also addresses current environmental challenges: by eliminating the need for antifouling paint, this storage method reduces maintenance costs, minimizes the impact on the marine environment, and extends the lifespan of boats.
Specifically, what packages do you offer?
M.G.: We offer two plans to meet the varying needs of boaters. The ?Dry Dock? contract allows you to enjoy your boat on demand. It includes annual storage on a cradle or rack, as well as launching and making the boat available upon request. The ?Storage? contract, on the other hand, is intended for temporary storage and includes parking the boat within the secure dry dock facility.
How does the launch process work, and what about the safety of the stored boats?
M.G.: The boats are stored in a secure area monitored by video surveillance and are available 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Boaters simply need to reserve a launch time 24 hours in advance (or 72 hours in advance on Sundays), and our teams will ensure the boat is ready on a floating dock.
Is its location in the heart of the water sports hub an asset?
M.G.: This is one of the main advantages of this facility, as our dry dock?managed by the Harbor Master?s Office?is located next to our new port workshops and close to our crane service. Our experienced and attentive port teams can easily move your boat to the port?s service area or to one of the professionals at the nautical center for maintenance work. This allows us to guarantee personalized support and optimal care, from storage through to launching.
