Bigship and Odock announce the launch of a boat insurance offer integrated into the fittings network, available from May 5, 2026 in 40 stores and online.
Insurance built on experience in the field
The project is based on Bigship's long history of equipping, maintaining and repairing pleasure boats. This knowledge of the boats and their use forms the basis for the construction of the contracts.
The offer has been developed with Odock, a broker specialized in marine insurance. Policies are underwritten by French and European companies.
As Ian Zieleskiewicz, President of Odock, points out, " Who better than Bigship to offer insurance on a boat it maintains, repairs and knows inside out? "
Insurance is designed to fit the sailing program. It takes into account the type of unit, its use and maintenance. The policy is designed to ensure consistency between coverage and the boat's actual operating conditions, whether coastal, offshore or mixed.
Centralized management via a dedicated application
An application groups together several functions linked to boat management. It includes a digital maintenance log shared with network technicians, a logbook and insurance contract information. The tool also integrates weather data with Windy Pro and cartography for navigation purposes.
The system provides for a reduction in the deductible when repairs are carried out in a Bigship network store. This organization directly links claims handling to the intervention capacities of the network, which has a nationwide presence with 40 outlets.
An integrated offering in the service chain
Bigship offers a range of services, including equipment, maintenance, repairs and insurance. The aim is to offer continuity in boat care.
Vincent Zaleman, president of Bigship, explains, " Bigship already supports its customers in equipping, maintaining and repairing their boats. It seemed natural to us to offer them insurance that would be consistent with this comprehensive support. "
