The Woy 26 is a 26-foot transportable dayboat designed and built on the Schlei at the Königstein shipyard. This model is aimed at sailors looking for a boat that's easy to launch, capable of sailing in a variety of contexts, without sacrificing contemporary wood construction.

A transportable dayboat designed for multiple waters
The first characteristic of the Woy 26 is its suitability for road transport. The boat has been moved several thousand kilometers, from Germany to Barcelona, before sailing the Mediterranean. This capability opens up access to a wide range of navigation zones, from the Baltic to the Alpine lakes, and then to the more exposed coasts.

For yachtsmen, the advantage lies in versatility. A single boat can be used in several basins without having to rely on a single home port. The constraint remains the logistical organization of transport, but the model has been designed for realistic use, close to that of an autonomous owner.
Timber construction for modern needs

The Woy 26 is based on a cold-molded wood construction, assembled and glued under vacuum. The process was developed in-house by the shipyard, and is the subject of a patent application. The aim is to obtain a rigid, homogeneous hull, capable of withstanding the stresses of transport and repeated sailing.

Wood is used here as a modern structural material, not as a heritage reference. For the sailor, this translates into a feeling of solidity and predictable marine behavior. On the other hand, wood requires careful monitoring over time, even if current techniques limit the need for major interventions.
A boat proven in demanding sea trials

Prior to her presentation to the public, the Woy 26 took part in the European Yacht of the Year trials off Barcelona in autumn 2025. Sailing conditions ranged from light winds to heavy seas.

These tests enable us to place the boat in a comparative framework, with an assessment of ease of handling, balance under sail and behavior in chop. For a dayboat, these points are essential, as the boat is often used for short outings, sometimes with a small crew.
A model born of work between worksite and research

The development of the Woy 26 is based on collaboration with the University for Sustainable Development in Eberswalde. This cooperation focused on materials and manufacturing processes, with a view to transferring knowledge between craftsmen and applied research.
This joint effort has led to an application for the Seifriz award, which recognizes projects that combine craftsmanship and science. The results are due to be announced at the boot Düsseldorf show on Friday, January 23, 2026.
Public presentation at boot Düsseldorf

The Woy 26 is presented to the public for the first time at the boot Düsseldorf boat show in January 2026. The shipyard emphasizes the importance of direct contact with the boat, in particular to appreciate the materials, assemblies and volumes.
