It's all very well to install an external water supply system on your boat. But the system has to be reliable, watertight, easy to use and able to withstand salt water. With the Ventura SC-V-W1, Scanstrut offers a complete package, already assembled and ready to install.
A quick-connect system designed for marine conditions
No wrenches, no pressurized fittings. The SC-V-W1 adopts a nickel-plated brass quick-connect system, allowing the hose to be connected with just one hand. Once the handshower is connected, the self-sealing valve lets the water through. Unplug and everything is blocked.
On deck, this avoids tedious handling, especially when wearing gloves or rinsing the boat back in port. This type of connection is still rare in the boating industry, and even rarer on fixed installations on board.
Robust construction and standardized installation
The housing is designed to withstand marine conditions: 316 stainless steel for visible parts, IP68 and IP69K sealing (lid closed), spring-loaded valve with 90° hold, and integrated gasket. Standard drilling is at 38 mm (standard hole saw), with a ½" BSP water inlet.
This universal format means it can be installed on most units without any special adaptation. It can replace an old outlet or be added to a free deck to rinse equipment, dinghy or fins.
Compact spiral hose with adjustable stainless steel showerhead
In terms of accessories, the kit includes a 3-meter polyurethane spiral hose (diameter 9 mm), which is easy to store and won't drag on the floor. It comes with a stainless steel knob with two jets: a concentrated jet for cleaning, and a gentler "shower" mode.
The handle remains simple but practical, with a flow lock. For occasional use after a dive, rinsing a dampener or cleaning a fender, the unit is functional.
Ready-to-install, maintenance-free equipment
One of the great things about this system is that it comes as a complete kit, with no surprises. There's no need to buy the hose or hand shower separately - everything is supplied, right down to the gasket and cover.
Maintenance is virtually non-existent, apart from a fresh-water rinse at the end of the season and preventive dismantling for wintering. The guarantee of simplicity counts for a lot, especially on family or rental units.

The SC-V-W1 is available from specialist retailers at around 110 euros inc. This puts it at the high end of the market for boat showerheads, but it's aimed at an audience looking for durable, no-do-it-yourself equipment adapted to the constraints of the sea.
