A new IMOCA built by CDK Technologies
CDK Technologies, based in Port-la-Forêt, will be responsible for building the new IMOCA Macif, designed by Guillaume Verdier and his team.
The launch is scheduled for spring 2027. True to its values of innovation and technical excellence, Macif is once again relying on MerConcept, the company founded by François Gabart, to design, manage and operate the project.
The objective is clear: to build a new-generation sailboat, optimized for long-term performance, reliability and durability, within a collaborative framework involving sailors, engineers and historical partners.
A collective of sailors at the heart of the project
The program is based on a team of seasoned skippers with complementary profiles:

- Sam Goodchild, IMOCA Globe Series 2023 champion, becomes main skipper of the new IMOCA Macif. The British sailor, who already helmed the boat in the 2025 season, won this year's Course des Caps and Défi Azimut alongside Loïs Berrehar.

- Charlie Dalin, an emblematic figure in the Macif team, will now take on the role of naval architect and performance consultant. Weakened by health problems preventing him from preparing a new Vendée Globe, he remains at the heart of the project, overseeing the technical and strategic development of the future IMOCA.
- Charlotte Yven, recent French Elite ocean racing champion, joins the team as co-skipper and replacement skipper. Winner of the Transat Paprec and first female podium finisher in the Solitaire du Figaro, she will play an active role in the program's development.
This collective model illustrates Macif's desire to combine transmission, expertise and performance, by capitalizing on the experience of sailors and the complementarity of generations.
A project with a strong maritime history

For over fifteen years, Macif has established itself as a major player in French nautical sponsorship. From François Gabart's successes in the 2012 Vendée Globe and the Transat Jacques Vabre, to Charlie Dalin's performances in the latest round-the-world race, the brand has built a strong identity around collective performance and support for French ocean racing.
This new program continues this strategy, while integrating new challenges: responsible innovation, support for young talent and promotion of the French maritime economy.
A program for performance and innovation
Beyond the competition, this new 2027-2030 cycle reflects the mutualist group's global strategy of promoting maritime innovation and sustainability.
New-generation IMOCA boats now feature optimized composite materials, increasingly sophisticated onboard electronics and manufacturing processes with a low environmental footprint.
With the support of MerConcept, CDK Technologies and Guillaume Verdier, Macif is consolidating a French industry of excellence, combining engineering, racing and research.
