The M.A.T 11 is an 11-meter sailboat designed by Matteo Polli, optimized for ORC C Class rules. But this racy design, homologated in category A for ocean crossings, is also sufficiently sober inside for freer sailing, double-handed or fast cruising.

A hull designed for ORC inshore and offshore racing
The M.A.T 11 is optimized as close as possible to ORC limits (with IRC option), with a CDL of 9.60 meters. The hull plan is by Matteo Polli, a naval architect renowned in the IRC sphere. It features a draft of 2.05 meters, a maximum beam of 3.80 meters, and a displacement of just 5,300 kilos. It's a lightweight yacht, designed to meet the demands of crosswind and downwind courses, while still being capable of tackling long legs.
The sail plan announces 82 m² upwind and up to 184 m² under asymmetric spinnaker. The advertised APH rating is between 535 and 540 seconds/mile.
Cockpit and deck: ergonomics and modularity for easy maneuvering

Suitable for both crew and double-handers, the cockpit is uncluttered and designed with racing in mind. It features Harken fittings (black Performa winches, cross-rails, ball-bearing pulleys), as well as custom cleats and chainplates. The helm station can accommodate either a tiller with carbon stick, or a double 900 mm composite wheel helm, at the owner's discretion.
The deck layout is designed to optimize movement, with a flush forward deck free of obstacles, and a roof that is both discreet and functional. A soft non-slip decking option is available for tougher maneuvers.
Vacuum infusion construction and proven materials
The M.A.T shipyard has opted for a closed-core PVC foam construction with epoxy vinylester glass sandwich. All bulkheads and fittings are also in composite, glued and laminated to the hull. This is a tried-and-tested method in ocean racing. The planking is finished in white gelcoat, and the support areas are non-slip.
The standard mast is a Sparcraft aluminum profile with two levels of push-pull spreaders. The carbon mast option is available from Axxon. The rudder is mounted on a carbon bit, and the bearings are from Jefa, a self-aligning performance model. The keel is a combination of a cast-iron sail and a lead bulb.
Interior: the bare essentials for the crew

The M.A.T 11 makes no secret of being a racing yacht. The interior is sober, with white gelcoat surfaces and composite modules. Headroom is 1.85 meters. Two berths on each side can accommodate the crew, with high-density foam cushions. The galley is limited to the essentials: sink, refrigeration compartment (12 V option), two-burner gimballed stove.
The saloon can accommodate a folding table (optional). The forward area houses a manual marine toilet with stainless steel sink and optional grey water tank.
Equipment and engines: frugal but consistent with the program
The engine is a 30-hp Yanmar, saildrive-mounted with folding Radice propeller. The diesel tank capacity is 60 liters. Electrical equipment remains minimalist, with a 12 V system, Victron AGM batteries and a manual and electric bilge pump compliant with the new offshore standards.
The electrical distribution panel is by BEP Marine, and the navigation lights are LED. A Victron charger is available as an option.
A modular platform for demanding owners

The M.A.T 11 is aimed at a clientele of experienced regatta sailors who also want autonomy outside the regatta. The program enables single-handed or short-handed sailing, as well as competition in the ORC Class C with a well-optimized rating.
Its ISO Cat A certification opens up the prospect of fast delivery or cruising over several days. For builders and préparateurs, the modularity of the deck layout and the options for mast, bowsprit or deck fittings make this a solid base to be adapted according to race or sailing plans.
