French engine manufacturer Weenav announces the launch of its Kronos range, a series of 100% electric outboard motors ranging from 80 to 300 horsepower. Intended for service boats, shuttles and RIBs, this motorization is designed to meet the challenges of reliability, autonomy and performance, with a view to the energy transition.
A modular range designed for flexibility
The Kronos series is built on a common architecture, with components adapted to each power rating (80, 110, 150, 180 and 300 hp). This choice of standardization enables Weenav to rationalize production while guaranteeing mechanical and electronic compatibility for different navigation programs.
The specific baseplate, capable of withstanding up to 1,200 Nm of torque for 10,000 hours, ensures enhanced reliability for intensive use. Compatible with several propeller diameters, this system is designed for semi-rigid boats, open hulls and small transport units.
Plug & Play integration: simplified on-board installation

The motor integrates the on-board charger, DC/DC converter and CCS2 Combo socket in a single unit. This monoblock design limits wiring to five essential connections: motor, batteries, manager and controls. According to Weenav, this solution considerably reduces assembly times, with installation possible in a single day.
The CCS2 port enables fast recharging from 20% to 90% in 20 minutes under optimal conditions, facilitating rapid turnaround for professional boats in continuous operation.
Modular battery: autonomy adjustable according to need
Weenav has opted for Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries designed by PowerTech Systems under the Zyonix brand. Each 53 V module weighs 49.5 kg and offers flexible mounting. Waterproof to IP67, they can be separated on the boat to optimize weight distribution.
On a 200-hp Capelli Tempest 770, the 26 modules provide a capacity of 140 kWh at 689 volts (13 modules in series, doubled in parallel), for a claimed range of 40 nautical miles at 35 knots.
Energy management system developed with Garmin

The Kronos incorporates a control interface developed jointly with Garmin. This solution centralizes propulsion management, battery monitoring and navigation. The system allows user profiles to be configured according to the type of mission (fast transfer, slow cruise, port maintenance...).
This coupling enhances ergonomics for skippers and reduces the risk of human error during navigation or recharging.
French design for sustainability
Based in Thonon-les-Bains, Weenav is a design office and integrator of electric and hybrid drives. Kronos motors are designed and assembled in France, with a clear focus on retrofitting and equipping new boats.
Both batteries and motors are protected by aluminum shells and designed to withstand seawater, with an estimated lifespan of between twenty and thirty years for the batteries (up to 6,000 full charge cycles).
