An innovative approach to sustainable sailing
Founded in 2023 by Maxime Kosnansky, Studio Endémique's mission is to reduce the environmental impact of light sailing. The Swell Collection, made up of plywood appendages, is aimed directly at sailing centers and clubs wishing to make the transition to more environmentally-friendly practices.
The Swell Collection: three products to get you started

The range currently comprises three flagship products:
- SR 01: A rudder blade compatible with Hobie Cat 14' and 16'.
- SF 01: A versatile fin for windsurfs, paddles and longboards, with U.S. housing.
- SB 01: A paddle blade, compatible with 28 mm or 30 mm diameter tubes.
These products, made from plywood and machined to an optimum technical profile, offer a viable alternative to traditional plastic appendages while promoting repair and durability.
A first test with UCPA

A partner of Studio Endémique since its inception, UCPA has launched a BETA deployment phase of the Swell Collection at three of its iconic centers: Bénodet, Bombannes and Hyères. Around a hundred appendages were tested throughout the summer of 2024.
This collaboration is part of a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) approach aimed at reducing the ecological footprint of nautical activities, while offering high-performance equipment adapted to the needs of nautical bases.
Local production at controlled cost

Based in Baden, Morbihan studio Endémique is committed to working with local suppliers and service providers. This geographical proximity reduces the carbon footprint of production, while promoting regional know-how.
" Producing locally is essential to reduce environmental impact" explains Maxime Kosnansky. " Our products are designed to integrate easily with existing equipment at boat bases, while guaranteeing equivalent or even superior performance."
One of Studio Endémique's challenges is to offer its products at a competitive price. " Our wooden appendages cost only 10-20% more than a plastic or composite version, allowing for gradual adoption by clubs "says the founder.
