A flagship event for an exceptional year
2024 will be remembered as an exceptional year for French sailing. The calendar kicked off in January with the Arkea Ultim Challenge, the first solo round-the-world Ultim race, before continuing with two iconic transatlantic races in, preamble to the Vendée Globe, The Transat CIC and the New-York Vendée. This summer, the Olympic Games made their mark with three French medals, cheered on daily by over 12,000 spectators in the Bay of Marseille.
The major events didn't stop there. The America's Cup and the start of the legendary Vendée Globe once again confirmed France's position as an essential sailing nation. These feats, combined with performances in windsurfing, wingfoil, kiteboarding and Olympic sailing, reaffirm France's place among the world leaders in the sport.
