Record for the world's largest wave surfed by a woman
Australian Laura Enever has just entered the Guinness Book of Records. On January 22, 2023, she rode a wave 13.3 m high, without the aid of a jet-ski. Ten months later, the record was finally confirmed. The previous record of 12.8 m had been held by Andrea Moller since 2015.

A young Frenchman, 3rd in the world in Windsurfing
The PWA Wave World Cup came to an end in Hawaii with some fine results for the French. Antoine Martin, a windsurfer from Guadeloupe, won the Aloha Classic in Maui for the second time after a hard-fought competition. In doing so, he secured 3rd place on the PWA/IWT Unified Wave Tour 2023 behind Marcilio Browne and Ricardo Campello. Sarah Hauser became runner-up to Coraline Faveau, 3rd overall. On the freestyle side, Adrien Bosson, last year's World Champion, finished on the third step of the 2023 podium. The final slalom stage will take place in Japan from November 10 to 16, where French competitors Pierre and Marion Mortefon, and Justine Lemeteyer are expected.

Numerous retirements in the Transat Jacques Vabre
While the Ultims continue on their way, still led by Banque Populaire XI, with more or less 2,000 miles to go, the rest of the fleet has seen some retirements. Finally, in Class40, in addition to the three non-starters at the start, three other Class40s dropped out of the 44 entries.
Nacra 17, 49er and 49er FX European Championships
From November 8 to 13, the world's best sailors gather in Portugal to compete in the European OPEN championships for foiling catamarans - Nacra 17 - and double-handed dinghies for men (49er) and women (49er FX) in a series of decisive competitions leading up to the Olympic events in Marseille in 2024.
Return to base set back to November 30
Due to the postponement of the Transat Jacques Vabre, and to give the IMOCA sailors taking part in the Transat Retour some time to rest, the start of the Retour à la Base race will finally be given on November 30. As a reminder, 38 sailors will set sail from Martinique to Lorient in a bid to qualify for the Vendée Globe 2024.
A first transatlantic race for the Lunven Kuiper duo at the helm of Holcim PRB
Not taking part in the Transat Jacques Vabre, the duo of Nicolas Lunven and Rosalin Kuiper set off for the West Indies on November 6 for a transatlantic race in delivery mode. Nicolas Lunven will line up at the start of the Transat Retour à La Base to qualify for the Vendée Globe 2024.

Start of the second leg of the Ocean Globe Race
On November 5, the 11 Ocean Globe Race crews set off on the second leg to Auckland. Three other yachts, which arrived late in Cape Town following the 1st leg, will take the start in the coming days.
