Dangerous and inconsistent boaters
The latest accident at sea on July 26, 2023 is a sad reminder of the behavior of some road-users. The pilot of a motorboat arrived too fast in a bathing area, seriously injuring the legs of a bather in Pornichet, who was caught by the propeller. The yachtsman continued sailing without stopping, and is currently being sought by the police. While marine sense and solidarity at sea have not disappeared, it has to be said that they are not shared by all those on the water, particularly in season.

The Préfecture Maritime de Méditerranée's video campaign will remind a wide audience of the existing risks. But no-one can avoid asking their own questions: is my watchfulness sufficient? Is my speed appropriate? Am I fit enough to practice my water sport today? Have I taken the weather forecast correctly? Can I alert the emergency services?
