A concept inspired by the America's Cup AC75
Plectrum is a 74-meter long hydrofoil superyacht designed by Lazzarini Design Studio. Her overall design of rounded lines is marked by a raised hull height in the center, and a large central almond-shaped window. In order to gain in lightness, this 242-foot yacht will be built entirely in carbon fiber. The hull platform draws its inspiration from the latest America's Cup boats, the AC75, and in particular from the challenger Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli. As for the concept, the designer likes to think that in 1964, a similar design for a large ship managed to fly on water.

Take-off from 15 knots, top speed of 75 knots
Plectrum should be able to fly as fast as 15 knots, and reach an amazing speed of 75 knots, using hydrogen. It will be equipped with three fuel cells with a power equivalent to 5000 horsepower each, for a total of 15 000 horsepower.

An adjustable foil system
The foil system can be adjusted to suit the sailing requirements, increasing the beam from 15m with the foils retracted to a 20m beam with the foils deployed, each adding 2.5m to the central platform.

A layout worthy of a 74 m superyacht
The layout of this superyacht incorporates a raised cockpit on the skydeck, a large aft platform with a pool that can be covered, as well as a foredeck with helipad and storage shed. The garage for the rigid tender will be in the center, while the aft garage will accommodate an inflatable tender and a car.
