A heterogeneous production
The Black Pepper Yachts shipyard never ceases to surprise us. This production unit, located on the banks of the Loire River in Nantes, produces the Code range of monohull yachts. From 8.20 m for the Code#, to 22.50 m for the Code 3, these yachts are at the border between yachting for their elegance and racing, with an all-carbon construction method. The catalog has evolved with an intrusion into the motorboat market with a Tender range, 2 models always very chic and luxurious. At the same time, the shipyard has launched into the construction of IMOCA boats, starting with L'Occitane en Provence, which raced in the Vendée Globe 2021. A very heterogeneous catalog. A multihull was still missing. Here it is, announced!
A 21 m luxury catamaran
This Code C.69, for 69 feet or 21.00 m, is designed by François Pérus and Romain Scolari. It will be built in epoxy carbon sandwich, as is done on racing yachts. Light, powerful, but above all design, as the shipyard describes it: "Its silhouette and charm result from the combination of ancient and modern lines and materials."
Comfortable cruises in the program
This very fast cruising catamaran is designed to be operated with a reduced crew. Its facilities are limited to an owner's cabin, 2 guest cabins and 2 crew cabins, but with the attention to detail announced by the shipyard: "On board, nothing is left to chance: sea keeping, ergonomics, ease of maneuvering, living spaces, equipment and luxurious materials, cabins, bathrooms, cockpit lounge, everything is thought to ensure owners and their guests, comfort, safety and autonomy."
The architects wanted a catamaran with luxurious living spaces, without burdening the performance with a high weight estimate. The boat is announced at 17.5 tons. Also, the wide and very tense hulls, let imagine impressive speeds and accelerations.
We will have to wait until 2024 to discover this newcomer in the world of multihulls.
