Yamaha's V8 outboards with new power ratings

Yamaha XTO 450

The Japanese engine manufacturer is releasing two new engines in 450 and 400 horsepower to satisfy owners of large boats with all the tricks and innovations of the XTO range.

A 450 or 400 horsepower V8 outboard

Launched in 2018, the Yamaha XTO 425 horsepower opened the ball of very high power in outboard motorization. Given the success of the model, the Japanese outboard engine manufacturer has announced the release, based on the same V8 of two new powers in the range, with a 450 horsepower and a 400 horsepower.

Torque for big boats

In line with expectations for these power ranges, which are primarily intended for large, heavy boats, the 450-horsepower and 400-horsepower Yamaha XTO V8s have a lot of torque. This allows high displacement boats to offer high performance and move from a traditional inboard to outboard configuration.

In the same logic of satisfying the needs of boaters with numerous equipment on board, from cooking plates to refrigerators to audio systems, the charging system has been optimized so that its performance maintains the level of the batteries without resorting to the generator.

Accessories and tips

The new 450 and 400 horsepower XTOs benefit from integrated and full engine lift systems for improved conservation. They also feature integrated DES digital electric steering and Helm Master joystick and propeller lighting.

For ease of maintenance, the engine architecture allows the transmission oil to be changed while the engine is running.
