A few basic principles must be respected when choosing the games on board. First of all, since space is limited on a boat, it is preferable to choose games that do not take up much space and are not fragile. Then, it is preferable to select games that can be reused over and over again rather than activities that require consumables. Ideally, we will take different categories of games: games based on imagination, construction, others on creativity, logic or skillâ?¦

Games to develop the imagination
Bringing along a set of Playmobil is a must. These allow the creation of stories that are constantly renewed. However, be careful with the very small pieces that easily end up in the fundsâ?¦ Besides, a little ditty for the youngest and a bag with some disguises will easily fit in a set for the happiness of the children!

Building sets
Halfway between imagination and construction, a lot of Lego will occupy the long navigations for the greatest pleasure of the parents! But as for the Playmo, we tend to find pieces in every corner of the cabins.
Other games for creativity
Jars of play dough are fine for toddlers, but often work well enough through elementary school. Although these are consumables, paper, pencils, markers, scissors, glue and tape will have many uses on board for the children. If you have enough room, you can bring colored paper for origami and cardboard sheets for cutting out masks, puppets, or cardboard dolls.

Games to develop skill and logic
A few puzzles and beads to string for quiet moments are often appreciated. For the older children, some sewing, knitting, crocheting or embroidery material will allow to practice when there is time and the boat is not moving too much.

Don't forget the books and some cartoons
Of course, don't forget to bring books. Reading books, starting in elementary school, will save a lot of space. For the youngest, soft magazines are perfect and don't take up much space. A small stock of cartoons or documentaries such as C'est pas sorcier, story boxes and other specific speakers for children will help them pass the time, snug in the cabins when the boat moves!

Finally, some board games will liven up family evenings. If you have several children close in age on board, they can also play together.
