Canna, an island at the crossroads of Mull, Skye and the Outer Hebrides

The anchorage on the island of Canna, Scotland

Halfway between the port of Tobermory and the Isle of Skye, the small Scottish islands of Eigg, Rùm, Muck and Canna are popular destinations. The island of Canna, for example, offers a nice and well protected anchorage and can be used as a starting point for the Outer Hebrides.

The main anchorage on Canna Island offers shelter from the west and south sectors. There is little room to anchor, but several visitor buoys are located near the ferry dock, between two chapels. A mini pier, in front of the island's café-restaurant, allows to moor the dinghy.

On Canna, many paths make the happiness of the hikers. After climbing to the top, the views of the sea and the surrounding islands are breathtaking! It is necessary to foresee good waterproof hiking shoes, because the grounds are very wet and spongy. The weather being very changeable, a good waterproof windbreaker will be very useful.

The latter are freshly caught in the bay by the local fisherman, whose red trawler is moored to his buoy in front of the establishment. As for the traceability of the products, it couldn't be better! Lobsters, crabs and langoustines delight the taste buds. For those who prefer, the restaurant serves excellent vegetarian pies, amazing and delicious seaweed salads, and fish and chips and many other things.
