Vismara VM80, a fast cruising sailboat for racing and long voyages

The VM80 is the new sailboat of the Vismara shipyard, specialized in fast racing and cruising sailboats from 25 feet to Maxi 100 feet. Its numerous cabins and its large tanks will welcome owners during long cruises, but also the crew in regatta.

Clean design, carbon construction

The VM80 a new large fast cruising yacht from vismara yard was launched in Viareggio, Italy. The sleek design with a very low roof and a flush deck plan was conceived by the architecture and design firm Micheletti&Partners, who are responsible for the great Swan or some of the Baltic Yachts or IceCat designs.

The VM80 has an overall length of 25.92 m and an empty weight of 33 tons. The hull is built in carbon sandwich and the deck is covered with teak. Its lifting keel with a standard draft of 4 m for offshore sailing is reduced to 2.50 m for shallow waters and harbor entries. The mast and the furling boom are also in carbon and the sail area upwind is 350 m2. The maneuvers are all reported on the 4 electric winches, positioned in front of the double steering stations with comfortable benches for long trips. The large cockpit is divided into two parts with a double L-shaped bench seat and two large retractable tables for outdoor dining.

The engine hold located under the saloon houses a double 120 hp saildrive engine. The cruising speed is about 11 knots. Air conditioning and heating systems are installed on board for comfortable sailing in summer and winter. The water and fuel tanks with a capacity of 1,200 liters each ensure a good autonomy during cruising.
