Ultra Matrix, an oil additive for fuel savings

Developed for competition engines (especially in the motorcycle and automobile fields), Ultra Matrix is now being used on boats. This additive improves the efficiency of thermal engines (gasoline or diesel).

Developed in Switzerland, the Ultra Matrix is based on the fact that 80% of the energy consumed in an internal combustion engine is dissipated as heat. By relying on nano-materials added to graphene (a kind of very thin sheet of carbon whose stacking constitutes graphite), the Ultra Matrix limits friction and avoids overheating. The principle of its operation can be understood by imagining a card game. Even if you press hard on the deck, you can make the cards slide on top of each other. The Ultra Matrix works in the same way with graphene sheets.

Announced gains of 25% in consumption

This additive is mixed with the engine oil. It is necessary to count 100 ml for 4 liters of oil. Once the product is diluted in the oil, the limitation of friction leads to a minimum gain of 7 to 8% of friction (manufacturer's figures). This results in a reduction in fuel consumption of around 25%. In addition, by heating less, the oil no longer evaporates and maintains lubrication longer. For the action to last, it is necessary to add the dose of product after each engine change.

Now for the Navy

Coming from the motorcycle industry, the product was tested on outboards and jet skis. The result was about 25 to 30% gain in consumption. The product costs 99 euros per unit (199 euros for 3 x 100 ml) and according to its manufacturer, is largely profitable by the gain in consumption achieved.
