Stop-Anchor, from adaptation to generic anchor
A yachtsman and diver for over 25 years in Marseille, Alain Maurin could only observe his boat drifting several meters at each anchorage with his flat anchor. After a period of research and development, he came up with the innovative "Stop-Anchor" system. The two "ears" fixed on either side of the shovels encourage the anchor, when under tension, to immediately bury its two shovels in the sand, considerably improving its anchoring time and distance. However, the Stop-Anchor kit requires the user to drill the anchor with the supplied drill bit.
To offer a ready-to-use product, Alain Maurin has just developed two anchors based on his patent. All his anchors are made in France. The first, the STAR anchor, is foldable and lightweight (2.9 kg). Made from galvanized steel, it is ideal for jet-skis and small boats, or as a spare anchor (?190 inc. VAT). The larger STAF anchor (7.14 kg and over), also in galvanized steel, is designed for small and medium-sized pleasure craft and yachts (?250 incl. VAT in 7 kg).
Ethabox, a box to convert your petrol engine to Ethanol
Ethabox is a box for installation on gasoline engines, enabling them to run on Super Ethanol fuel. The box has been specifically developed for marine applications, and incorporates pre-settings dedicated to boat engines and jet skis. It guarantees flexible conversion, so that Super Ethanol E85, SP95 and SP98 can be alternated without adjustment. Indeed, the current difficulty is to find Super Ethanol in port stations, even if things are evolving in this area. In fact, on March 18, 2024, the Marseilles Metropolitan Authority inaugurated a Super Ethanol E85 pump on the Vieux-Port and began distribution. The Ethabox box is available at a price of ?699 incl. VAT (excluding installation) for a 4-cylinder, ?799 incl. VAT for a 6-cylinder and ?899 incl. VAT for an 8-cylinder. With a 45% reduction in the consumption budget (difference in price per liter of fuel), the kit can be reimbursed in just a few outings.
