Sailor of the Year 2021 : Voting is open to choose between 12 distinguished sailors

After a year 2020 which had allowed the revelation of a sailor of the decade and not of the year, the competitions having been cancelled by the Covid19, the FFVoile honors this year the athletes who have marked the world of sailing in 2021. Revelation of the winner, on December 6 at the Olympia, among the 12 nominees to be found in our article.

In 2020, Franck Cammas had received the honor of being named Sailor of the Decade. Due to the lack of euro competitions cancelled by the Covid euros, the French Sailing Federation had modified its protocol somewhat. In 2021, the FFVoile honors new sailing personalities who have distinguished themselves throughout the year by their skills, all fields combined. Who will succeed Camille Lecointre and Aloïse Retornaz who have already been elected "Sailors of the Year in 2019"?

A big award ceremony at the Olympia

The Sailor of the Year Revelation will take place this year at the Olympia, after two years at the Nautic in Paris. A new breath of fresh air for the event with numerous awards in all disciplines, from Olympism to offshore racing, kitesurfing, etc... and not only the Sailor of the Year and the Best Hopes of the Year 2021.

The highlights of the 2021 sailing year will also be broadcast during the event.

Two tickets are up for grabs for the public who can also vote for their sailor of the year. As a reminder, his choice will count for two votes in the final jury, presided over by Guirec Soudée, an adventurous sailor known for his round-the-world sailing trip from the North Pole to the South Pole with his hen Monique. He would like to participate in the Route du Rhum 2022 and the Vendée Globe 2024. The rest of the jury will be composed of media, sportsmen and sportswomen.
