Mastervolt MLI Ultra 1250: a compact lithium battery of the latest generation

MLI Ultra 1250 Battery

Mastervolt has been awarded for its new MLI Ultra 1250 Lithium Ion battery. Details of this latest generation of electricity storage designed for use on board pleasure boats.

All the advantages of a lithium battery

Mastervolt, a brand of the Brunswick Group's subsidiary Advanced System Group (ASG), has been awarded the DAME Award as the joint winner in the propulsion, mechanical and electrical systems category. The winning product, the MLI Ultra 1250 battery, has all the benefits of LiFePo4 lithium-ion technology and demonstrates the state of the art in the field. "It is a significant marker of where battery technology is heading," said the jury of the marine equipment innovation competition.

A compact and powerful battery

Available in 12V and 24V, the MLI Ultra 1250 battery offers an optimal energy density and a nice compactness. Its power is 1250 Wh for a weight of only 15 kg and limited dimensions of 330x173x210 mm. It has been designed to replace directly the AGM batteries of the brand group 31 and 49, that is 85-90 Ah. The plug and play system allows the MLI Ultra 1250 to be connected to all ASG charging systems (MasterBus, Czone or NMEA 2000 networks).

The advertised number of cycles for the battery is 2000, at an 80% discharge rate. The announced recharge time is 60 minutes.

Integrated BMS and temperature management

The MLI Ultra 1250 battery has an integrated intelligent BMS. It manages the behavior of the different cells for the fastest possible recharging of the battery. To operate in all environmental conditions encountered by boaters, the battery has an integrated heating system to maintain the cells at a temperature above freezing point and maintain performance during winter sailing days.

The product is distributed in France by Tecmar.
