After a great Vendée Globe in 2020 - a first for Clarisse Crémer - she will be back in 2024, but on a 2020 generation foiler.

A successful first experience

Clarisse Crémer was participating in her first Vendée Globe in 2020/2021 aboard the dinghy IMOCA boat Banque Populaire X. Only 18 months after joining the circuit, she finished 12th in the round the world race and became the fastest woman in the Vendée Globe breaking Helen Mac Arthur's record of 94 days.

No new construction, one generation 2020 foiler buyout

She will be back for the next edition in 2024, still accompanied by Banque Populaire, but on a new boat. An IMOCA hydrofoil boat, 2020 edition. But for now the sponsor is not communicating on the future boat chosen, indicating only "A 2020 generation hydrofoil boat is indeed being acquired." Could it be Charal, since the stable is having a Manuard design built for the next round-the-world race? Or Hugo Boss?

"I am very happy to be able to continue the adventure and to be able to project myself on this new challenge. As soon as I passed the Cape of Good Hope, I had this strong desire to return. It is an incredible opportunity to benefit from the support, know-how and experience of the whole Banque Populaire Team. I was lucky enough to do my first Vendée Globe aboard one of the best daggerboard boats and I'm looking forward to taking it to the next level in terms of performance and requirements with a 2020 generation foiling boat.

I had time to discover my strengths and weaknesses when I was at sea and I know what I need to work on to progress further. After the last Vendée Globe, I realized how much I loved being on the water and how much I loved giving it my all. Fighting and doing everything I can to outdo myself in the open sea has become a need and it makes me want to take on this new challenge even more" explains the navigator.
