The fitting out of a semi-rigid, Loup de Mer focuses on the top of the range

Loup de Mer manufactures and markets a range of RIBs from 3.30 m to 8.70 m, SharkBoat by Loup de Mer. Alain Laniesse, the founder, explains how he fits out his boats to offer maximum quality and comfort to boaters.

On board the SharkBoat by Loup de mer RIBs, there is a quality feel, with facilities dedicated to family cruising and above all, a lot of comfort. Options for fishing can also be considered, such as fishing rod holders.

Bathing beaches that make swimming easier

On the stern, we discover two large extensions of bathing beaches, with on port side a handrail to go up from the bathing by a telescopic stainless steel ladder. Underwater lights will enhance the comfort for a late anchorage.

A practical and very well equipped cockpit

In the center of the boat, the central console features a dashboard with a Vessel View 702 Mercury, a real on-board computer, especially for fishing with a Lawrens transducer and a Navionics cartography that allows you to program your outings according to your program: fishing, cruising, sport... The Mercury steering wheel is coupled with an electronic joystick that facilitates the lifting. For the finishes, the manufacturer has chosen a coating in KIDEX Carbon, which reminds the carbon. Underwater lighting, horn and Osculati control box complete the set of cockpit controls.

At the front of the boat, the electric windlass with stainless steel anchor integrated under the hull facilitates anchoring. A telemeter allows you to know the length of the chain used. An option that is rarely seen on board RIBs of this size.

The seat allows the pilot to navigate comfortably, protected behind the windshield, Plexinautic, which deflects the spray. For entertainment, there is also a 4x100 watt HF radio with outstanding speakers. The console also houses a 20L Dometic drawer fridge to keep drinks cool. Two handrails make it easy to move around the boat, both forward and aft.

"The boat is a pleasure to sail, both for the skipper and for the whole family. We don't get a drop of water coming from the sea, even at 40 knots in heavy seas, except in the turns. Safety is also a key point of the boat. Children can be seated and lie down in many places. Finally, fuel consumption is relatively low, with 15L/H at an average of 30 knots, making it an economical boat." explains Alain Laniesse.

A deck plan dedicated to comfort

With its wide side decks and central console, it is easy to move around the boat, which can be adapted to your needs.

"You can arrange your boat according to your desires, but always keeping this luxury aspect, characteristic of the SharkBoat by Loup de Mer brand", explains Alain Laniesse.

On the front deck, a dining table can be installed in addition to the comfortable seating, as well as a sunbathing area. In the aft cockpit, the same layout is found, a bench seat with a table that can be transformed into a second sunbathing area.

"Boaters will use it more as a hybrid, livable boat with a table in the back and a permanent sundeck in the front." adds Alain Laniesse.

One of the characteristics of the boat is its awning which can remain open even when sailing at 40 knots, while effectively protecting the passengers installed on the back. Thus, there are two living spaces: the sun on the front and the shade on the back.

A plethora of storage space

In total, there are 6 lockers on board. The aft locker, which runs the entire width of the boat, can be fitted with a cooler. There are also lockers under each seat. The console also has a locker generally dedicated to safety equipment (life jackets) and which opens from the front, from the seat whose design has been studied to offer a maximum of ergonomics, "a bit like a love seat".

At the front, the trunk will serve as an anchor locker, while on the starboard side, it can be used as an ice cube tray to refresh bottles or as a livewell for fishing.

One of the particularities of the boat is the addition of two flat seats on the floats.

"It increases the livability, which is usually one of the weak points of boats. They can also be used as diving boards, like on the bow, or as a seat for fishing." explains Alain Laniesse.

Beautiful finishing qualities

To bring this touch of luxury to the boat, Alain Laniesse relied on the quality of the finish of the fittings. Starting with the 10 cm thick marine leather cushions engraved with the Loup de Mer logo, for exceptional comfort.

"They offer exceptional comfort. The finesse and beauty are combined by the flexibility of the boat and its adaptability to each one" explains Alain Laniesse.

The Eva-teck coating ensures no slipping in the boat and unmatched smoothness. Finally, large capacity tanks allow for a longer life on the water, 100 L for water and 150 L for fuel.

For fun on the water, the boat is also equipped with a ski pole as standard, allowing for a variety of water activities.
