A daycruiser for lakes or coastal cruising
The Magonis shipyard has just entered the electric boat market with the Magonis Wave e-550, an elegant 5.50 m bowrider. Created in 2017, it took the Italian-Spanish company (the headquarters is based in Barcelona, the yard in Sabaudia) three years to develop, design and build this first model.
Despite its small size, this unit of 5.50 m long (4.98 m at the waterline) and 1.98 m wide has all the comfort expected for a day's navigation, at sea or inland waters, where boats with combustion engines are prohibited.

Electric propulsion and autonomy
The Wave e-550 has a draft of only 0.30 m, allowing it to get as close to shore as possible. Built in infusion with the Light X Pro technology developed in-house, the boat has a light weight of only 335 kg. Thus, the shipyard announces a maximum speed of 22 knots and an autonomy of 12 hours at a cruising speed of 5 knots.
Four electric drives are available: Torqeedo Cruise with 4 to 10 kW (about 20 hp) or the new Mag Power 18.0 and 30.0 with 18 and 30 kW respectively. The former (with about 40 hp) has a top speed of 22 knots, while the latter reaches 16 knots.

All the comfort on board
The deck plan is bowrider style with an elegant stainless steel windshield with a center opening reverse. The look is quite elegant, even with a very rounded forward deck to save space on board. The forward cockpit serves as both a dining area and sunbathing area by lowering the table and adding cushions.

The rear cockpit has a small central bench, in front of the engine block and two pilot seats. The shipyard claims to be able to fit 6 people in it, but from the pictures, you will certainly have to squeeze in to make it possible. As standard, the Wave e-550 is equipped with a stainless steel davit and anchor, a swim ladder and stainless steel cleats. Many options are available: telescopic table, teak deck, refrigerator, shower, anti-theft device and 8 m2 bimini to be installed on carbon feet.

A state-of-the-art electronic system
The instrumentation has been replaced with a waterproof 13-inch iPad that owners can take anywhere with them. There's also a smartphone charging slot and a 120-watt Fusion audio system.
