How to choose your RIB? Brig's vision of the market

Brig is one of the largest RIB manufacturers in the world. It offers 3 ranges for all budgets and all programs. Franck Hillen explains how to choose your RIB according to your program and your budget.

Which RIB to choose for a family of 4 and at what cost?

Our "entry-level" model is the Falcon 500 . With a 50 hp engine and a trailer, the price is 17 500 euros. The layout is very simple, with a console and a bench seat at the rear. The floats will be used as seats.

The model that we sell the most is the Eagle 6.7 The Eagle range is much more expensive - 55,000 euros - but offers great comfort with numerous seats, storage space and sunbeds. The Eagle range is our most luxurious range.

The right compromise is the Navigator 610 It is sold for 30,000 euros with a 115 hp engine. There is a large bench seat in the back, a bolster for two and a seat on the front of the console. You can also practice towed sports with a roll bar. It is an ideal model for a family.

What are the programs of the different ranges?

The quality of construction is the same for all three ranges, it is the layout that differs.

The range Falcon offers simple boats, with simple fittings, without rear lockers. They are small boats - up to 5.70 m with affordable prices. We recommend them for a fishing program, for fast travel..

The range Navigator is equipped with a hull with a deeper V. They are boats for those who like to sail, to line up miles or to practice towed sports. They offer a very good sea passage, are narrower, longer and deeper.

The range Eagle is the comfort and luxury range. It is more for a program of idleness, good moments on the water. The facilities are very comfortable, the boats are equipped for swimming. However, they also offer a very good passage at sea.

PVC or hypalon floats, which material do you recommend to your customers?

We sell more hypalon floats, and I recommend it especially in the Mediterranean. In the Atlantic, PVC will do very well. There is a big difference in price between the two materials. For a 6.50 m boat, the difference is 3,600 euros.

Today, PVC has evolved a lot. If your boat does not stay in the sun all the time, if it is covered and taken out of the water, PVC will suffice. Otherwise, prefer hypalon. At resale, it sells better because it ages better. It is sure that 10 years old PVC floats will have to be replaced while Hypalon floats last.
