The disappearance of Commander Lapérouse in 1787 never ceases to intrigue. Left for the King of France in Oceania, this commander leading the 2 sailing ships L'Astrobale and La Boussole gave no more news after a mail sent from Australia. The 2 sailing ships were then on their way back to France. What happened to them?

It is finally an English captain, Peter Dillon, who, during a stopover 40 years later, will discover traces of the boats in the bay of Tikopia. He found a metal piece of a sword stamped with a fleur-de-lis. How did it get into the hands of the native tribes?
After this discovery, Captain Peter Dillon will never stop trying to mount a new expedition to retrace the last days of the sailors who accompanied Lapérouse. It is this expedition that Boris Beuzulin has highlighted in a very successful comic book. Extensively documented, based on the captain's logbook, he tells us about this fascinating search for truth by the English friend.

The drawings are dry, without roundness which gives rough and rough characters. Only the very simplistic (and digital) colouring, with a lot of flat colours, could be criticized. But this comic book gives a new light on the adventure of Lapérouse. A book to read to discover the end of the story of the greatest scientific expedition of the time. Or simply to read to live a crazy adventure in lands still untouched by discovery.
