ShipHeart: A connected and easy to install electrical panel

A newcomer to the marine electricity market, Koriolan's ShipHeart electrical panel is both "smart" and affordable both technically and financially. A link between the traditional fuse panel and high-end NMEA2000 solutions.

A "smart" electrical panel

In 2021, Koriolan launched its first series of electrical switchboards called ShipHeart. Designed and developed in France, it is an intelligent electrical switchboard. The buttons are replaced by a 10 inch touch screen. The yachtsman can control, protect and supervise the various functions of his boat. A largely dimensioned computing power, provided by 2 independent processors, allows the display and acquisition of data. ShipHeart goes beyond the traditional functions of an electrical panel providing home automation and onboard data recording functions.

Vessel data history and visualization

Available in several versions, the ShipHeart board can manage from 8 to 32 circuits. The history of many data can be stored:

  • Charge level of the battery banks (up to 5 battery banks)
  • Power consumption in real time, circuit by circuit and overall
  • Fluid levels: fresh water, black water, fuel... (up to 12 tanks)
  • Temperature measurement: ambient, refrigerator, engine block, etc
  • Atmospheric pressure
  • Internal temperature
  • Humidity

Accelerometers are used to record shocks and locate them with an integrated GNSS position sensor. The storage of the events generates an automatic logbook. Various alarm systems alert the yachtsman in the event of danger to the integrity of the boat or navigation.

A connected panel for the yachtsman on board as well as on land

The ShipHeart board integrates a Wifi transmitter. The yachtsman can thus take control of the board from any point on the boat with a tablet or a telephone. A 4G chip ensures that encrypted data is sent to the Koriolan company's server for access from land if the yachtsman so wishes. Through this server, he can also, via a secure process, launch key functions such as bilge pumps from his home. The Ship2Net subscription, necessary for the connection from land, is offered for the first year.

Simple and robust installation

ShipHeart can easily be installed as a refit on an existing boat. The Plug&Play system does not require special tools, as the pre-installed connectors are supplied with the board. No complex programming is required for setup, unlike NMEA2000 architectures.

For maximum safety, mechanical switches are always available in case of electronic failure.
