An American idea that is developing in France
The Pontoon is a typically American boat, but its market is growing on our French coasts. Smartliner sees its sales of this product in strong growth also with the renters on lakes for example Swiss and Hungarian.
Designed in 1951 by a farmer in Minnesota, this boat is composed of a floor, a metallic structure and two floats - or even three - like a catamaran, and is mainly intended for sailing on lakes.
The main objective? To sail in a comfortable and zen way with family or friends, to take the time to enjoy the water, but also to enjoy fishing.
4 models for 12 possible bridge configurations
Smartliner has developed a whole range of pontoons. 4 models from 16 to 25 feet offered in several deck layouts: Fischer, Standard and Sundeck. In total, there are 12 possible combinations in the manufacturer's catalog. The boats are approved in category D, with floats designed for fresh water.
A beautiful leisure platform
With an interior width of 2.45 m and a superstructure made of metal tubes, the yachtsman can enjoy a huge leisure area. Like a "lounge" on the water, the pontoon is equipped with very large and comfortable benches that contain numerous storage spaces, MP3, Led lighting, a bar, a toilet, sunbathing areas, an icebox... In short, the deck area allows you to equip your pontoon as you wish.
Stability and comfort first!
Here, we don't aim for high speeds and wave jumps, but a reasonable performance and the pleasure of being on the water with the people we love. This floating "terrace" (which can accommodate up to 15 people) allows you to enjoy beautiful walks and a peaceful anchorage in complete stability.
Indeed, the design of the 55 cm diameter aluminum tubes - for use in sea or inland waters - stabilizes the boat as much as they allow it to split the waves. An imposing ski mast allows you to practice water skiing and other towed sports, provided you have a powerful enough engine for that! You should at least have a 100 HP outboard! For the rest, a 50 HP motor will be more than enough, depending on the size.
Many customers also opt for single or twin engine electric outboard motors.
Its very large deck area can accommodate up to 15 people in comfort, without having the impression of stepping on each other, as can be the case with an open hull. To further increase the leisure aspect of the boat, many equipments are planned to be installed on board, even a slide!
Transportable, but protectable!
Even if it is transportable, the Pontoon can remain on the pontoon or on a buoy. Indeed, to protect the boat from bad weather and the sun, the manufacturer offers in the catalog a mooring rate covering the entire boat to the deck. In addition to the standard bimini, it is also possible to opt for a double bimini to protect all the larger models.
Ideal for fishing
Smartliner also offers fishing versions with the appropriate equipment; livewell, chairs, rod holders, etc.
