The veteran of the IMOCA class
Plan Lombard built dear Mag France, she took the start of the 2000 Vendée Globe in the hands of Catherine Chabaud, who had to abandon following a dismasting three days from the finish.
The Italian Simone Bianchetti then finished third in Around Alone in 2003, then Marc Thiercelin took over for the 2004 Vendée Globe, which he had to abandon in New Zealand..
Taken over by the American Brad van Liew for the Velux 5 Oceans 2010, he won all the legs, before returning to France in the hands of Tanguy de Lamotte, who finished 10th in the 2012-2013 Vendée Globe. Romain Attanasio then set off on his first Vendée Globe in 2016-2017 (he will finish 15th after taking an anchorage to repair his rudders without assistance!), before Alexia Barrier took over in 2018 for the Route du Rhum, then for the Transat Jacques Vabre.
270,000 miles on the odometer, but still in good shape
TSE-4myplanet is a relatively simple IMOCA compared to recent foilers. Equipped with two straight daggerboards forward of the mast and non-lifting rudders, it is a versatile yacht that could allow Alexia to write a great story on this 2020 edition.
A new title partner
Sharing many values, TSE got closer to the sailor Alexia Barrier a few weeks before the start of the 2020 Vendée Globe. Also originally from the South of France, created in 2013, TSE is one of the main independent French players in solar energy.
Conversion as an ambassador
Reaching the age limit, this will be the last race around the world for this renowned IMOCA. There is a good chance that Alexia will give everything she can to bring the final chapter of this legendary yacht to a successful conclusion. Her reconversion is already planned: she will become the ambassador boat of the 4myplanet foundation, and will go out to meet schoolchildren in order to raise their awareness about the protection of the oceans.
