Initially developed by Zhik for the Donfgeng Race Team on the last Volvo Ocean Race, the adaptable hood and balaclava from the Isotak range are today particularly well suited to the health crisis we have been experiencing since March 2020. Indeed, the nautical world is also obliged to wear a mask or any other facial protection.
Removable hoods and visors
Originally designed to protect the face from sea spray in heavy sea conditions, the Hydrovision hood is fitted with a removable rigid visor. Anti-fogging and made from hard, transparent plastic, the visor offers 110° vision. Thanks to its zippers, the visor hood can be easily coupled with the jacket or pea jacket of the Isotak X Offshore range. This way, the sailor is fully protected from sea spray, wind and moisture.

It is possible to buy either the complete jacket and hood package (949.95 euros) or just the accessory (179.95 euros). Thus, it can also be installed on the Ash Aroshell Smock pea jacket (279.95 euros). The latter is light, versatile and breathable with protective sleeves on the cuffs and a waterproof collar. This equipment was also chosen by Alex Thomson for the 2020 Vendée Globe.

Hood
Another accessory provides effective protection, the Superwarm Baclava zip-up hood (79.94 euros). It will be enough to install it on the jacket or pea jacket, in the same way as the visor hood. Made of neoprene and 3 mm thick, this hood offers complete facial protection and good insulation. Thanks to an opening in the nose area, you can breathe without too much difficulty. The hood can also be folded up to be worn simply as a neck protector.

Breathable neck warmer
The new Breathable neck gaitor (45 euros) is versatile and also suitable for personal protection on the water. A textured knit is used to increase airflow around the mouth and nose. The pleated hem provides an optimal fit when pulled up over the face. This breathable and stretchy neck warmer protects against spray, sun and wind and can be worn around the neck or over the mouth and nose for added protection.
