Garmin Quatix 6, the watch every sailor dreams of..

The Quatix 6 comes on the market. Garmin launches this new model with greater autonomy and even more features. But unfortunately also a little more expensive

In the connected watch, few models are provided for navigation. With its Quatix range, Garmin truste just about the entire market. One only has to look at the watches on the wrists of sailors during boat shows (or even fishing shows) to realize that the Quatix has been adopted by all sea lovers.

The Quatix is a watch from the Fenix outdoor models (watches used in the mountains or for sports). In fact, built in the same case, the Quatix takes all the functions of the Fenix, adding those dedicated to navigation.

This watch is based on a satellite positioner that works with several constellations (GPS / GLONASS / GALILEO) for greater accuracy. In addition to a barometer (which also acts as an altimeter), a compass and a gyroscope complete the data.

The watch is also equipped with a cardio (heart rate measurement) which works with a sensor placed under the watch (thus in contact with the wrist).

The autonomy of this model has been improved and Garmin announces 36h with GPS/Cardio, 10h with GPS/Cardio/Music and 72h Max Batt GPS alone. Finally, up to 14 days without any function activated.

For the navy, this watch comes with preloaded applications. Designed to connect to the onboard Garmin network, this watch can be used as a remote display, but it is also possible to take control of the autopilot or monitor if an anchorage does not move. Fishing functions are even available.

While this Quatix 6 model can store 2000 songs of music, to listen to them with Bluetooth wireless headphones, it is also possible to control a Fusion audio system.

Its 1.3" (250 x 250 pixels) colour display can even show Navionics cartography, turning the watch into a true miniature chartplotter.
