What to do with his bridge once he leaves port? Deflate it and put it in a trunk! Plastimo launches an inflatable footbridge of simple and practical use.
Conceived and designed in Lorient
Designed by the design office in Lorient, this footbridge has a construction identical to that of a paddle, i.e. a PVC 1100 Decitex envelope with a Double Stitch structure. It is a mesh of polyester fibres stretched between the two PVC layers. These fibers keep the board flat when inflated.
The top of the board receives an EVA foam which is used both for the design (made by Blandine Didry) and to avoid slipping when moving around on this board even if it is wet.
Very wide
This footbridge is 2.50 m long and 70 cm wide. It is much wider than a traditional footbridge (which is usually 40 cm wide). Moving around will be easier, especially since this footbridge does not have a hand grip.
Lightweight (9 kg), this footbridge supports 200 kg. Rope handrails on each side will be welcome to bring the gangway back on board. There are also 4 rings to fix it on the boat or on the dock.
Bridge and more..
But Plastimo's looking further ahead for his bridge. Indeed, those who are used to anchorages have realised that paddles are often used at the rear of the boats as a bathing platform. Children hog them and adults like to sunbathe in them. Plastimo's gangway can also be used for this purpose once at anchor. Two fins are even provided underneath if you want to turn it into a real paddle. This platform will also be used to carry out repairs or maintenance on the hull while the boat is afloat.
A hot prize
Delivered with its pump and carrying bag, the Plastimo footbridge is available for the 2020 season at 670 euros including tax.
