Mini Transat La Boulangère

The protos fought a hellish battle during the last few miles of this first stage between La Rochelle and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. While François Jambou (865 - Team BFR Marée Haute Jaune) thought the victory was achieved, having led the fleet for 5 days, he had the victory stolen by Axel Tréhin (945 - Project Rescue Ocean).

Bogged down in the wind, François saw Axel come back on top and cross the finish line as a winner, after 8 days, 17 hours, 58 minutes and 28 seconds of racing. François took second place, 6 minutes and 22 seconds behind. Tanguy Bouroullec completed the podium finish 26 minutes and 07 seconds after the first.

"This first step was very complete. There was wind, less wind, upwind, downwind, downwind, a bit of reaching... There was some placement of the strategy and moments when it was necessary to make speed. The conditions were complicated and there were moves to be made. It was very interesting. I started moping yesterday when I saw it getting dark. I was thinking that François (Jambou) and Tanguy (Bouroullec) had arrived before the wind died down. But I heard the VHF talking and understood that they were stuck next to each other. It made me feel good fou?! I set myself on their right and the new wind came from the right. I came back with pressure, almost even. And at the last moment there was a big right, a gift from heaven. Finished bonsoir?! The differences are very small with François and Tanguy. We're even, but I'm the one with gagné?! I want to do a nice second step to finish the job. No one will give themselves a gift, it will also be a good fight, I'm not inquiet?!" explains Axel Tréhin.

Ambrogio Beccaria aboard Geomag, the first Serie boat, crossed the finish line of the first stage of the Mini-Transat La Boulangère this Monday at 6:30min 7 seconds (French time) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. His running time is 8 days, 19 hours, 52 minutes and 7 seconds. Its average speed from La Rochelle is 6.32 knots.

Autumn Challenge of the Société Nautique de la Trinité-sur-Mer (SNT)

This weekend was episode 1 of four weekends of fierce racing in Quiberon Bay. For this first part, 350 riders responded in sustained conditions.

On Saturday, all the series completed a coastal course in around fifteen knots of wind. The IRC A, IRC B and IRC Double covered 18 miles in Quiberon Bay while the IRC C, Mach 6.5, Open 7.50, Osiris Habitable, Mini 6.50 and Grand Surprise flew 15 miles to North and South Quiberon and then the Bugalets. On Sunday, the IRC A, IRC B, IRC Double and Mini 6.50 set off on a 17-mile coastal course in 15 to 18 knots of wind with gusts to 35 knots in the late morning. The rest of the fleet fought on two technical courses.

In IRC A, the winners are the regulars Jean-Claude Nicoleau and Nicolas Loday on Codiam, while in IRC B, Jean-Yves le Goff, still in great shape on Realax, wins with flying colours. It's a full box of IRC C, for Gildas the Barazer.

In IRC Double Ludovic Menahes (Adeosys) wins this Autumn Challenge which was the first for him and his teammate. Erwan Lebeau (Souezhadenn) wins in Osiris Habitable. In Mach 6.5, conditions allowed only Saturday racing. Perpetual agitation, Jérôme Cosse's Django 6.70 was the only one in the fleet to run all three races, so it is in first place in the ranking.

Three Mini 6.50 were lined up on the start line Matthieu Lacharme (Poulparayure) was victorious this weekend. Finally, as a Great Surprise, François Molinari (Sacripant) won.
