Video / Pushed by the Wind: Big fright, Maloya takes the water!

In episode 48 of Poussé Par le Vent, Sarah, Aurélien and their guests were treated to a beautiful fright, an ingress of water aboard their sailboat Maloya.

It is time to leave Saint-Martin in the direction of Saint-Barth for Maloya and his crew. On board, Sarah, Aurélien and Nael welcomed Aurélien's brother and his partner as well as a friend. As the family made the crossing aboard their sailboat, Loïc decided to follow them - and even pass them - on a hydrofoil. A smooth sailing that turns into a nightmare when you arrive at anchor.

As they were about to drop anchor, in a full anchorage, there was no propulsion in Maloya's engine. The crew is forced to set sail - it is the case, to say it - and to move away under gennaker to analyse the failure.

Aurélien and Sarah discover that Maloya takes the eau?! It was a bit of a panic on board and while Aurélien at the head in the engine hold, Loïc dived under the boat to check the propeller shaft.

It was the propeller shaft that shifted. While Loïc succeeded in replacing it underwater, Aurélien was forced to replace the nut that had held it in place. The latter probably failed because of the pressure exerted by the thread caught in the propeller on their previous navigation.

The bottoms are scooped, the nut put back in place and to forget this bad experience, everyone enjoys a rich dive in poissons?!
