The Cannes Yachting Festival 2019 edition has just opened its doors this Tuesday, September 10, 2019. This year, the novelty is the bipartition of the show, on one side the sailboats and on the other the motorboats.

On Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 8:30 am, the Bénéteau Group's traditional press conference marked the opening of the cannes International Boat Show . Until 15 September, nearly 650 sailing and motor yachts are to be discovered, including more than 210 new models and more than 130 launches.

611 exhibitors are present this year, a number that has increased by 12% according to the organisation of the show. More than 80% of exhibitors reiterated their participation.

New this year, the show is structured around the two ports of Cannes: the Vieux Port continues to welcome the motorboat offer while the Port Canto is now dedicated to sailing. It also keeps its space reserved for brokerage.

"We didn't have the space to display enough boats. Sailboats were vampirized by motorboats. Now they have their own space - 400 m2 in Port Canto - and we exhibit nearly 130 units there. There are old building sites there, but also newcomers.

In the Old Port, motorboats also have more space and are now presented next to each other. The route is more fun for visitors. There are boats from 10 to 24 m and then yachts up to 37 m in the superyacht extension.

We also created a new space for powercat with a few large units - 67 feet at Lagoon and 80 feet at Sunreef. A total of 30 models are on display. It is a rapidly evolving market that pleases boaters.

Finally, a RIB village is located in the heart of the lounge " explains Sylvie Ernoult, General Commissioner of the Show.

Canto port for sailing

Monohulls and multihulls with sails between 10 and 35 metres are now on display in Port Canto.

"It's probably the world's largest floating sailing show." adds Alexandre Dauberville.

You will find more than 120 units, including the latest innovations of the year 2020. To help you in your visit, discover next year's must-see models:

- The new sailboats under 40 feet that will make the year 2020

- Sailing yachts over 40 feet to discover in 2020

- Luxury sailing yachts over 15 m long to discover in 2020

The Old Port for the motor boat

It is at the Old Port that we will continue to wander through the motorboat offer. More than 410 motor boats will be exposed on land and water. In the water, it is now necessary to have a length of more than 10 m. Thanks to the installation of new pontoons, 14 to 20 metre units linking the Pier's yachts to the smaller boats of the Pantiero will be on display. A new RIB village - dédié? with semi-rigid boats - has been set up in the heart of the old port.

On the Quai Max Laubeuf a brand new village is consacré? with inboard and outboard engines. Finally, the Palais remains the place where tenders are displayed.

Different types of maritime shuttles are available with a capacity ranging from 10 to 100 people, allowing for greater flexibility and fluidity of service and ensuring a departure every 15 minutes.
