Driven by the Wind: Between diving and hiking on the island of Granada

The crew of Poussé par le Vent stopped over in Granada and enjoyed the charms of the Caribbean island.

Grenada is a Caribbean island located between Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Sarah, Aurélien and Nael have decided to stop there after Carriacou, an island in the Grenadines archipelago. They discover the local factories, starting with the nutmeg factory, but also the chocolate factory in Granada. Fans of local chocolate, they decided to discover how traditional chocolate making works.

If the Caribbean island is full of fruit trees, it also shelters splendid waterfalls, hidden in the green jungles. But it is at the bottom of the sea that we find the most incredible spectacle: the Molinere Bay underwater sculpture park. British sculptor and diver Jason deCaires Taylor immersed works of art on a human scale, in particular in tribute to the slaves who died during the transatlantic journey.

The stopover in Granada is not only dedicated to tourism, and will be the opportunity to buy a new dinghy engine

After a short sailing trip during which Aurélien fished, the family moved to the anchorage of Prickly Bay, south of Granada. This very busy anchorage is not very popular and is very family friendly. Ideal for Nael, who is delighted to be able to mate with little Leo, the little boy of a Swedish couple.

Then it's time to change anchor and head to Hog Island, where every Sunday there are big musical barbecues with all the local boaters.
