The Explorer 40 is the new model from the Technohull shipyard in Athens. At 12.1 m long, this cruiser sport with its elegant and contemporary design is expected to exceed 60 knots. It therefore combines both performance and comfort at sea to enjoy with the family. The site also promises to be easy to manoeuvre and perfectly seaworthy
The Explorer 40 is designed on the patented Dynastream hull, developed 5 years ago to facilitate water flow and increase lift. This very deep V hull is equipped with steps and strakes and allows you to launch from 12 knots. It also deflects the spray, which allows it to sail offshore, even in swell. The floats are made of neoprene hypalon like the rest of the range.
According to initial modelling, the yard estimated a speed in excess of 60 knots, with outboard propulsions as inboard. It will be launched this with 2 outboards of 350 HP, but the yard recommends an inboard propulsion of 880 HP (2 Volvo V6 of 240 HP) to reach maximum speed. The performance package includes two 627 HP outboard motors (1250 HP in total) from the Seven brand. With a 750 L fuel tank, the yard announces a maximum range of 250 miles.
In addition to performance, the Explorer 40 offers a spacious and comfortable deck layout, sheltered from the spray, for safe sailing. "An ideal cruise ship for families."
At the front, a large sunbathing area with a deep armchair built into the console allows you to relax in the sun. The centre console is modern, protected by a large tinted windscreen and accommodates two sporty driving chairs.
On the back, the owner has the choice between a facing square or a large sunbathing area. As an option, a hard-top or a bimini can be used to protect the cockpit. The cockpit is closed with a stepped structure that gives access to bathing platforms.
Finally, under the centre console is a cabin with a double bed and toilet. Ideal for storage or to consider a longer cruise with a bar area, fridge and coffee machine.
As on the models, it is possible to modify the deck layout, choose the hull or upholstery colour or customize your boat according to a superyacht, in the case of a chase boat.
