Sailing Kalispera sells her Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45.1 !

Kalispera, right

As we announced a month ago, the crew of Kalispera Arnaud, Mélanie, Lou and Lisa have decided to put an end to their world tour initially planned for this year. Too many adventures and damages will have taken the edge off the family's timing and enthusiasm. And now Kalispera, their Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45.1 is for sale.

In June 2018, we met Arnaud and Mélanie, residents of the south of France, whose plan was to go on a family trip around the world. Through their videos, they shared with us their preparation and enthusiasm for this trip scheduled for August 1, 2018.

To accommodate the four members of their family, they had purchased one Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45.1 . This boat was suitable for the many criteria sought: space on board, 4 cabins, a large cockpit, two steering wheels and a large saloon

For many long weeks, they worked on their sailboat to fit it out in their own image. Hull painting, interior painting, standing rigging, sails, fittings, electronics... Everything's been changed

It was finally time to take départ?! But as they sailed through the Mediterranean, things didn't go exactly as planned. And twice the transatlantic race has been cancelled. Finally, due to lack of time, energy and money and logistical concerns, Arnaud and Melanie have decided to put an end to this great journey.. .

Their Sun Odyssey 45.1 is now for sale. Still in the Canaries, where numerous repairs have been carried out - spreader/mast and rudder - the yacht should reach the south of France (Var) at the end of May for visits

"If places in the south weren't so expensive we'd keep it without hesitation. We're a little sad that we have to part with it... But you have to know how to move on chose?!" explains Arnaud.

The boat was completely refitted in 2017 and 2018 and costs 125 000 euros ready to sail. To learn more about the equipment, follow the link below.

"When we picked up Kalispera, she only sailed a few days a year and when we bought her we knew there was a lot of work and equipment to add to make our adventure possible. We were buying a base, but a sound base with the possibility to shape it according to our desires.

It's a safe, healthy, robust boat! Everyone at the construction site during the work had told us. Older boats are "stronger" than newer, more proven boats. Even in bad weather we always trusted our boat.

And that's the most important thing in the search for a boat. What can I say, it's ultra-equipped and ultra-maintained for having lived on it for almost a year. And after the setbacks of our adventure we had everything repaired in the Canary Islands." explains Arnaud.
