Arranged ROM, an audible and luminous alarm for Adrena

For sailors who use Adrena or sailors who own the Adrena Octopus cruise software, ROM Arrangé has developed an audible and visual alarm that amplifies the software's alerts.

While Adrena is known for its mapping software combining weather and routing, it does not develop hard (hardware) products to improve user navigation. A major distributor of Adrena software, the Lorient-based company ROM Arrangé has developed a man-machine interface for Adrena software.

The request came from Adrena users who felt that the alarms triggered by the software were not performing well enough in the heat of the moment on a sailboat. Indeed, the software allows you to set up a host of alarms according to the events that the skipper decides. For example, to trigger an alarm if the wind rises or turns, or if the bottom approaches, if the boat leaves its heading, or if a MOB (man overboard) alert is triggered... Almost all the parameters of the software can trigger an alarm. But how to warn the crew that the alarm has gone off. Indeed, apart from a symbol on the screen or the -mini-buzzer of the PC that is triggered, nothing else is planned.

ROM Arrangé

This is how the team of technicians at ROM Arrangé came up with the Adrena Flash product. In case of an alarm on the software, a small box connected to the PC triggers a powerful audible alarm. In addition, a column with 3 coloured LEDs (Red, Orange, Green) lights up to indicate the type of alarm triggered.

Thus we can imagine on a reduced crew (double or solo) using both systems (sound and light) while in crew, only the light alarm will be triggered in order not to wake the rest of the crew at rest.
