Special Edition / Simrad Halo24, a radar that sees near and far

With its pulse compression radar running at an incredible 60 rpm, Simrad's Halo24 allows virtually instant target tracking. A feat combined with features that make it easy to read and accurate.

Simrad improves safety at sea with Halo24 radar. This radome allows a rotation speed of 60 rpm (usually radars run at 24 rpm). With 1 turn per second made by the radome, this radar displays the targets in near real time.

While the range in this mode is reduced to 1.5 miles, this is more than enough, because the need to visualize targets in real time is felt when you are at the entrance to a port or in a high-traffic area, not when you are offshore. In traditional mode, the Halo 24 offers a range of 48 miles.

Targets that change colour

This radar incorporates Simrad's VelocityTrack Doppler technology, which provides instant visibility of the radar targets' movements relative to the boat. Targets change color as they move and get closer to your boat. Targets that move away also change colour when they are no longer dangerous for our road.

A MARPA target tracking function monitors up to 10 targets (20 in the case of a dual range).

Simrad Halo24

Four preset modes

To facilitate vision, this radar has preset modes such as Port, Offshore, Weather and Bird modes. Depending on the mode chosen, the radar pre-set 18 different parameters to provide maximum view quality. Fishermen will enjoy spotting bird hunts, which are synonymous with fish underneath. Boaters will appreciate detecting the presence of grains so they don't navigate underneath. In port mode the best near vision will be obtained while Offshore mode will be a setting used offshore.

Simrad Halo24

Lightweight and economical

The Halo24 24-inch pulse compression radar is the lightest on the market (6.75 kg for a 61 x 22.5 cm radome). It offers different power level options that provide high-speed radar coverage when required. In a few seconds, the radar leaves the low-power standby mode to switch to any fully active mode (power consumption between 20 and 27 W depending on the operating mode).

To be connected to its Simrad electronics

Simrad's new Halo24 pulse compression radar is available at a price of 3,000 TTC. To operate, this radar must be combined with a Simrad multifunction display with an Ethernet connection. To benefit from the MARPA target tracking function, a heading sensor and a GPS receiver are required.
